The commitment of Lorusso Arte to interior design achieved a great goal with the presence of Achille Castiglioni, who was hosted in December 1986.
Castiglioni’s fame, then sixty-seven years old and a professor at the polytechnic, had long since crossed national borders, gaining worldwide success.
In fact, he had already been invited to be part of the prestigious London academy “Royal Society of Arts”.
This was one of Castiglioni’s very rare visits to Apulia.
He came to our region for the second time after 5 years to discuss “The art of inventing a function and translating it into form”.
On that occasion Castiglioni had the opportunity to clarify some key concepts of his decades of research on lighting technology.
In fact, he considered the use of artificial light as an element of interior architecture.
The technicians, architects and engineers who took part greatly appreciated the opportunity they were given to discuss in an informal and confidential manner with a great Master.
