In the world of Japanese calligraphy there is an invisible but deliberate continuity between points, lines and characters called “iren” (意連). This continuous motion ensures that there is a perfect harmony between the symbols even though they appear divided.
Even in an era like ours, so dominated by technology, the spirit of the Iren desk lies not only in its quest for beauty and simplicity but above all in its revival of a natural and harmonious action: a desk that gives rise to new work scenarios and rituals in a naturally fluid relationship between body and object. Designer Kensaku Oshiro envisaged the Iren desk as a small domestic workstation that easily adapts to modern lifestyles. Thanks to a simple motion, two overlapping surfaces slide over each other to create new work and storage spaces

Nel mondo della calligrafia giapponese c’è un’invisibile, ma cosciente, continuità fra punti, linee e caratteri, chiamato “iren” (意連). Questa continuità nei gesti fa sì che i segni siano in perfetta armonia fra loro nonostante sembrino divisi.
Anche in un’era come la nostra, così dominata dalla tecnologia, la scrivania Iren ha come spirito non solo la ricerca della bellezza e dell’essenzialità, ma soprattutto il recupero del gesto naturale e armonioso: uno scrittoio che dà vita a nuovi scenari e rituali del lavorare, in un rapporto di naturale fluidità fra il corpo e l’oggetto. Il designer Kensaku Oshiro ha immaginato la scrivania Iren come una piccola postazione domestica in grado di adattarsi agilmente allo stile di vita moderno. Grazie a un semplice gesto, due piani sovrapposti scorrono uno sull’altro creando nuovi spazi di lavoro e di contenimento.
